Giving Tuesday became a global movement in 2012 to encourage people to do good. As an artist I feel it's truly important to use this time to invest in our artists, with these programs being phased out in schools we are relying more and more on non-profits. Here are some very important arts organizations that would love to hear from you on Giving Tuesday.

Free arts transforms the lives of children who have experiences trauma through creativity

Adopt the Arts Foundation funds arts programs in public elementary schools.

Art Bridging the Gap has an amazing group that is connecting the community, police, children, and artists together by making murals together to beautify the city.

Donor's Choose isn't exactly an arts program but it's definitely important to add to the list. This non-profit allows teachers to ask for resources they need to give back to their students and create a thriving learning environment.

I have donated my artwork, time, and money to all of these organizations over the years. I love what they stand for and I hope you connect with them as well.

But giving isn't just about money. You can give back in other ways. Let's explore actionable ways to give back on Giving Tuesday:

DoSomething.org is a great resource that offers current campaigns for you to join and share your voice or effort in a simple way.

Volunteer Match will help you find the perfect opportunity in your area to donate your time.

Taproot If you have a skill that an organization can utilize this is a great way to use your gift as your gift.

Do you shop and search online?

Smile.Amazon- if you're going to use Amazon PLEASE make sure you are signed up with a charity of your choice so a percentage of each orders total will go towards your charity.

Goodsearch earn a penny for each search that goes towards a charity

I personally have a Daily Karma giving fund. A portion of my #nowomanleftbehind streetwear and tote bag sales go here. Daily Karma is a platform that allows you to customize multiple non-profits in one "giving fund" so your donations can be split amongst a group of organizations that you support.

Whether it's helping others through the gift of donating your time, physical donations, goods, or using your voice, together we can change the world one small deed at a time.
